I usually hunt deer from 5am to 6pm, going in ,about a mile or two, in the dark and coming back to the car in dark. enjoying every minute in the woods.
When I started, I took a sanwich and an apple as lunch. As I got older and diabetic, I sort of simplified it to a can of sardines and a plastic fork. still have that lunch in the woods...simple, light weight, small. But as I've goten older, the walkin and sitting in the deep woods has become more important that shooting a critter. And now my lunch has changed, on nice days. I take my 50 year old sterno stove and a can of soup, one metal spoon, and matches. The stove is just about 4 oz, Sterno can 6 oz, so just under 1 lb plus a can of soup. At 12:30 a hot can of soup goes down easy. What lunchs do you carry in hunting? Edited by BEAR - 10 January 2021 at 12:39 |
