Well Dale I'd consider getting a BIG "ah" battery like in your truck with lots of starting power and energy. One with a 72 mth warranty too.  As big as will fit in the battery box on the boat. But it surely is a pi$$er to have that trouble right out of the starting gate. Sure hope the boat seller takes care of it for you.

AngryAngryAngry Interstate or Exide would be my first choice. Cat batteries are awesome as well if you can find one that fits, they are made by New Penn Mfg (Deka)

WE got Interstate batteries for both.
The Boy gets a GREAT firefighters discount.
The price was not as big a thing as wasting ALL day dinking with it.
I know for a fact they will make it good when they all get back from the holiday.

Boats do eat batteries, the starting batteries.

Found it best to replace one every 3 years.  About 10 years ago I put two batteries in my boat with a switch for 1,2, or both.  Not been stranded since then.  Did require me to wire in a second bildge pump, one on each battery.

We have a PerCo battery switch coming to keep from having to jump off one to the other, it should keep both charging off the motor also.

How much room you got on that thing? Seen a Tesla on a flatbed that did a tumble. battery is probably still good! I can do a bit of research on capacitor packs for you and we can attempt a "ludicrous speed" option for your trolling motor.

Boat Up Date.
No "Certified" dealer here for Brigg and Straiten motors.
There are a few Dealers that sell lawnmowers and such.
The Mud Buddy people got with the Factory Briggs rep and gave us the OK to have one of them work on it.
We took it in today, they checked it out and said it has a bad voltage regulator.
They got with the Factory rep and have a New one coming, next week maybe. To bad it is not today, temp is 50* and plenty of water...
I'm hoping there is no more problems.ClapDead

good news trouble found, good news it will be fixed, no cost to you is good too except for the troubles and frustrations of being stranded twice on account of it. Here's a smile for you Big smile
