I like guns. especially deep blued with walnut stocks.
not being an AR tpe guy, I've never felt that MSR had any charm or great value. LGS sale price....is this crazy? |

YES they are like all the rest.
Have you ever herd of 80% uppers/lowers? I don't know which. There all AL and are not finished. With a drill press and a milling kit and the templates you finish them as needed at home. Half the price and not traceable. May be something we need to get before there stopped. |

I'm not an 80% guy. A dremel and a hand drill can make them work well enough. Stripped lowers, the part with the serial numbers are cheap. 49 bucks just about anywhere. A person can build there own for about 450-500 bucks and slap it all together in a few minutes. Great for farm or truck guns much like a mini-14. Race guns can get uber expensive. Check out the JP Enterprise stuff!

That looks really expensive to me. Is that because it's a Colt? I don't see anything else that would make it cost that much.
The local gun shop has AR's for around $600. Wing master

I too actually favor the blued steel & walnut of guns. That said I have a few synthetic stocked long guns and handguns too. Seems as if each has it's place. The price of AR's is all over the range based on what you want in one. Like most things...low end to top end and priced accordingly.

I do think that now is a good time to make sure you have all the AR's, AR parts and magazines you think you might need.
How many magazines do you think is enough? Can any of you recomend a place to get parts? I am thinking about getting a new upper receiver for my AR that would be more practicle. Mine has a 20" barrel. I'm thinking a different handguard and 16" would be better. Wing master

Either Copes distributing or Classic firearms, Copes would be cheaper.
20 magazines should suffice, extra springs for them. Triggers, buffers and springs and threaded barrels with protectors. Those will be the parts that ATF will aim for and also wear the most. The barrels being suppressor ready will also be a target.

20 magazines?????? enough for a tactical movement.
Combat soldiers carry seven 30 round magazines. |

Not for carry.
#1, 20's and 30's will be restricted, grab them while you can #2, They are all plastic these days and when dropped, break #3, Not sure anyone makes a steel magazine anymore so revert back to #'s 1&2 Also mags for other calibers, uppers, barrels.....long list collapsible stocks etc, the options are endless and anything "tacticool" will be banned.
