Been having some problems with decapping in loading 600 cases for MYGAWDS.  Too many escpe dead primers.  Would like a bench mounted decapper that catches ALL dead primers.  They escape on the floor and I can’t find them, until they press into my shoe or floor mats.  Spent a lot of time no luck!

So sitting at my RCBS RC, I thought about doing some modifications myself.  Got my plan building stuff out.  Cutting blade and blocks of balsa wood.  Made a do-dad and then decapped 200 cases without an escape.  Hooray.     Started  PROUDLY priming the cases. 20 seconds later my hand slipped and  a box of 100 new primers spread all over the floor.  Somedays, you just can’t win.

I feel for you bear. I had that happen one time. I load 50 at a time and had a half a box of CCI's out of the sleave on the bench. I somehow knocked them onto the floor. I think some of them went 20 feet.

I ended up sucking them up with a shop vac.

It didn't bother me as much that I wasted a half box of primers, but that I didn't have the sleave on the little tray. Since then I ALWAYS put the sleave back on the little tray.

Got the Original RCBC cup, like yours only mine is old, same size but cast aluminum.  Primers fall to fast and bounce.  Actually, I had the sleeve on, but the CCI plastic tray slide out of the sleeve..dumper.

put a "cushion" in the metal primer cup so they don't bounce....line it with a felt cloth or such.

Had been using a chair leg protector sticking with felt.  about 5 every 100 would bounce when it hit the metal, added another sticker, still bouncing 4 or so.  just a floor mess, and my eyes can't see them, so it is shop vac time.  those little guys really hide.
