Have any of you used the new Sierra Game Changers?

They are supposed to be as accurate as a Matchking and have the penetration of a Pro Hunter.

I got a couple boxes of 50 to try in the Swede. I haven't tried them yet.

The only 6.5 bullets they offer so far is 130 grain.

I usually prefer heavy for caliber bullets, but if these shoot good I'll be ok with them. I have killed many-a-animal with 130 grainers out of a .270.

I've been using the 123 grainers for antelope, seem to work.  I think BC is more important that weight in the 6.5 for 'lope.

I got out and shot the Sweed with the Gamechangers yesterday. Needless to say I am impressed so far.

I didn't take my chronograph so I have no idea how fast they are going and their is no published data for the powder I am using but they shoot good. I plan on working up to somewhere between 2900 and 3000 FPS. That's pretty fast for a 130 grain bullet but I think it's doable with the powder I am using.

This is the first load I tried at 100 yards with a 20 mph quartering wind 5 shots. Unless I have time to get to the range, This will be my antelope load this year.

I am hoping to do a little tweaking on it this weekend. I'm thinking it would be a good idea to shoot it over a chronograph. I'd hate to find out after hunting season that it's a 1500 FPS load.

Right now it's 1 to 1/2 inch high at 100 yards. I was aiming at the bottom of the red square. If I can get it worked out this weekend, It will be about an inch high at 200 yards.

The problem is that I am using Reloader 26 and their is no published data for it in a 6.5X55. The load I have now has no pressure signs at all now. I plan on loading a couple rounds each adding 1/2 grain each time and looking for signs of pressure and shooting them over a chronograph. If I get somewhere between 2900 and 3000 FPS and have any kind of accuracy I will start trying different seating depths.

This is a lot to do between now and October first. (opening day of rifle season) but I am planning on getting it done.

I had a pretty accurate load using RL-22 and Nosler Accubond Long range bullets. That's what I had at MYGAWDS and hit CB's 600 yard gong with it when it had a scope that wasn't intended for long range shooting. They were going 2725 FPS.

I should be able to get closer to 2900-3000 FPS using RL-26. If I can get the same accuracy I will be happy.

Well there Wing we know the load you had at MYGAWDS for the Swede certainly works on certain...er...a... varmints.....altho it was not what we can call a long range test for that cartridge/rifle/scope combo.

That's right IBD. I'm not sure if I can get a deer to stand that close. I did shoot a prairie dog at 450 yards with another load, but I was using a Matchking and don't think that would be the best big game bullet.

There not. I used then for a wail in my 22/250 for coyotes.
They where incredibly accurate but they would not KILL a coyote. Pass right through and the coyote would run for miles.Ouch
