I'm surprised I haven't heard any chatter about it yet. Got a helluva BC for such a tiny thing. Shame it's a FMJ.
Anyone got any thoughts on it? |

With the possible exception of the 6.5 creedmore, I have the same comment on this one as with the rest of the ultra-mags, short mags: eh. IMHO. 788

90 grain puts it in with the 243 group. Just makes me wonder if it may be the new trend in cartridges. The 6.5 started the whole heavy for caliber thing with the VLD rounds. High BC's seem to be the latest rage. Good for paper, not so good for game taking, at least yet.

It came out year behind 22 nosler, basically same capacity, but 22nosler has rebated rim, to work better with AR15 bolt. Since I already have couple 22 nosler and don't plan on shooting the 90gr, not worth the change.
6mm with 105gr and heavier VLDs, will shoot inside of the 22s all day. Once you get away from the small AR, there's no reason to stay with the smaller case. It's a lot easier to get bolt to shoot inside 1/2MOA, than AR, so there's limited need for it. Same with the "new" 6.5 PRC, it's got too much recoil, to be competitive with in normal LR shooting and not enough splash for the ELR. The 24Nosler, which is 22nosler shortened and necked up, allowing 6mmBR performance and allowing 105gr hybrids, to be loaded mag length, in an AR15, might gain a foothold. |

6BR gives what up over the 6.5 Grendel? Still works in bolt and AR platform with better bullets in the 6.5 range. I personally have an affinity for the AR-10 platform as it gives you everything short of magnum length calibers and you can squeeze in short mags. But like you said, much easier to get a bolt to shoot sub half MOA then the semi's.
