Finished 2 days of boar hunting, ice chest is empty. Saw
a lot of turkeys, some big ALligators, and lots of pretty
outdoors (especially if you like wetlands).

Will fish for a few days to let my strength build up.

BEAR;

Well, I'm sorry you didn't tag one, but at least sounds
like you got to see some country & had a good time. Was
there at least one cold beer involved also?

Temp was 80 oF and was very dry so no bugs. Last night
it started a slow rain, that usually brings out the pigs
but it didn't...brought out sketters.

About an hour after dark, I walked out. But to get in I
had quickly gotten a ride on a swamp buggy in; and
didn't have time to get my back pack. So no light,
compass, bug spray, gps. So walk out was
interesting.Interesting area, as the rain on the trees
make lots of night sounds, add in the 'who..who...who'
creatures and it was beautiful. Walking in the dark
(just don't think about rattlers, 14 foot gators, and
the 7 mean water buffalos that hang out in the river
bottoms). Nice stars but no moon. Glad I know this
area somewhat. Walking in an areas solid with palms,
live oaks, mud/sand--is like walking thru a mountain
laurel thicket...it all looks the same, and when you
turn your back you can't see were you just walked thru.

Might get out again.

My mistake was borrowing a smoker, don't count your
hams until you have squeezed the trigger!

Sounds like a great trip. I hope you get a boar before you
head home. Are you pheasant hunting too?

Did pheasant hunting a week ago. 300 birds, think I got
11. Ate the last one for lunch today. I was cleaning up
refrig stuff thinking   BACON.

Just got back from taking wife to hear the "Temptations"
( a 60s MoTown group for you youngins), dancing is tough
on an old man. Skeeter bites starting to swell....don't
touch them stupid.

Sea trout and redfish tomorrow. My batteries are
wearing down.

The best cure for Skeeter bites is meat tenderizer. Mix a little meat tenderizer with water to make a paste and put it on the bites. They will quit itching in less than a minute and most of the swelling will go away in a few hours.

Used the meat tenderizer on sea urchin stings, will try it
on insect bites.

Fishing was good caught about 40 sea trout and redfish,
kept enough for two dinners for me and SWMBO. Fished my
old stomping grounds, Pine Island sound. Saw eagles,
Manatees. dolphins were a pin in the butt, kept chasing
our fish away.

BEAR;

Good for you! Spring may be coming here, not real sure
about that, but I can no longer see my breath in the
morning when I go out to get the paper.

I have not seen a gopher yet though.

Jim if you can't see your breath in morning when going
out side....better check to see if you have a pulse.
