Fella's;

The wind finally calmed enough yesterday afternoon to go
out & shoot the gopher gun and check zero. I'd tried
doing that a week ago, but the wind came up & put the end
to that. The sad fact is that what I'd suspected in the
first go got confirmed in the second. My scope shot
craps over the winter.

Therefore, last evening, I spent the time removing the
offending glass from the gun & installing another scope.
It's on, but not zero'd & today's weather just sucks.

The offending scope is a Nikon Monarch 3.3-10X A/O mil-
dot & it's been ideal for the gun & application. But now
it no longer tracks, the reticle adjustments are wildly
off. It's to go back to Nikon for either warranty or
rebuild. The replacement item is another Nikon, but this
one's a 4-16X side-focus Monarch mil-dot. It's a bit
bigger & heavier scope, but not vastly so. We'll just
have to see how it works. I sure do hope to be able to
get it zero'd to the gun before MYGAWDS, but I'm not
gonna be surprised if it isn't possible.

For me it's getting the cross hairs level, not the site in that takes all the
time.

Fella's;

For me, no mil-dot means no buy. The original Nikon lasted
about 10 years knockin' around the gopher fields. We'll
just see how it goes with the new one.
