I can honestly attest to shooting five bucks while watering a tree.....I've always considered it a Murphy's law thing.

Deer urine is the scientific reasoning for CWD in the wild population. I've always been one that if you want deer urine, just stop by a fresh roadkill and cut it out. Sure it's not in a "cool" bottle and your hands might get messy, but it is the real deal. Seems the archery guys are always looking for another reason to spend money for some reason.
...oh yeah! thats gonna hurt!

I've never used urine or any other attractant. But where I hunt the deer don't come to us, we have to go to the deer.

One thing I have done is used a cow call to call elk. That does work.

One year we were hunting elk. I only had a cow tag. We saw two respectable bulls. We looked at them for a few minutes and went on our way.
When We got on the other side of the hill from the bulls I saw a coyote. (it doesn't matter what I'm hunting, If I see a coyote it turns into a coyote hunt) The coyote also saw me and started running.
I blew my cow call and that made the coyote stop just long enough for me to take a shot.
We were walking over to look at the coyote when the two bulls literally came running over the hill.
That convinced me that cow calls work. I've used it several times since with varying results.

I have always considered myself to be quite the bullshitter, But ocasionally it is nice to sit back and listen to a true professional......So, Carry on.

Elk, moose calls do work in the rut.

Called in a nice moose by smashing brush.  brought the moose from 400 yards to 210 yd where it stopped permanently!
