Fella's;

Some of the members of 2016 MYGAWDS raised the idea of a
winter coyote get together this winter. As the time has
come, D & I have been kicking around the time frame.
We've come up with either a couple of days in the
December 26 - 31 week, or something just after the first
week in January, say the week of the 9th - 15th.

We know that the results are going to be pretty much
weather dependent, and travel plans are best made well in
advance, two mutually exclusive goals it seems. But,
who's in & who's out? I'll start working on getting
permission into as many areas of private land as I can.

Ok. The xmas-new year will not work.

I am ok with the 1/9-15 as long as it is towards the later part. I get back
from a cruise on the 7th, dead tired.

Wasn't bear going wolf hunting in Jan?

December 12th-16th time frame is workable, and should be before the Christmas rush. Either time I'll have to get a day off and arrange for someone to pick up my little granddaughter from school, but there again do able.
Jan 10th -14th should be arrange able also the weather is only going to be a seed under our denchers this time of year. I DONT use "chains" on the suburban and am hard pressed to strap on the snow shoes. -30* just is not as much fun as it used to be...

  d, are you saying the "call of the wild" just isn't as loud as it used to be?  I understand and  am with you on that.

Kinda. I still hear the call but I can ignore it a little better now.
Not that I don't go in stupid bad weather , just don't care for it as much as I did once.
Just got a Giant pack of "hand", "foot", and "body" Warmers today, By them in bulk now.

D back when I started hunting winters (1961) I bought a
Jon E hand warmer, still have 2 or 3 someplace. they
used lighter fluid and stunk terrible and could burn
thru you coat if not careful.

Today's powdered charcoal burners a big improvement.

We sure can get distracted can't we.
Sorry CB.
Back to arranging a coyote hunt.
Any chance we would call out a Bob cat?
I don't have a trapping license at this time.
For Bobs there is a dead line to get on of November 1st.
You can only shoot one If you have a trapping license.
There $20 for residents and for land owners there $1.
If there a chance I'd like to shoot one...

D;

I haven't heard of anybody in the area commenting on
bobcat. I do know where there's a lion hangin' around
though.

BEAR;

I have no idea what all is involved. Best you go to the
state site & see what they have to say.

My initial thought is to try for the January dates. Does
anyone have any preference about mid-week, over the
weekend, or other? I do know that air fares can vary quite
a bit by that sort of thing.

Fella's;

It's possible I suppose, but shouldn't be a big deal.
Though it's no doubt that weekdays would have less chance
of that.
