Let's pretend for a minute that Leupold fell off the face of the earth, didn't exsist, you don't/can't have one. What would be your choice to replace them? Or would you say screw scopes and go open on everything, or maybe give up the sport all together

So much so you said it twice!
No reason for this guys, just gathering a general concensus. |

Burris. Only used one, a 4x20 compact, but it was really nice. NH_Hunter |

For me it would have to be the Bushnell [formerly B&L] Elite series of scopes....been working for me for years... no reason they can't do the job... In fact have more of them right now than any other brand of scope on my rifles... Even have a couple waiting for rifles to go on... Regards, Marcus. Edited by North Logan |

if i couldn't get ahold of leupolds, my 2nd choice would be the zeiss conquest series. 3rd would be a tie between weaver and bushnell's elite line.

Most likley i would go with Burris. Made in the usa and very good quality. In fact I am in the market for another score and I wish i could get a look at the nre signiture select models but since it is taking them so long to get to market I.ll probably get another leupold. ...tj3006 |

Nightforce,Swarvoski,Schmidt&Bender,Zeiss,nikkon.Pecar,Docktor,Kahles.If they are a little pricy then the Burris Black Diamond or a Hakko. God, there are so many brands available now it's not funny.A bloke down in Victoria got a sightron and it would not hold a zero. The scope is being replaced but apparently the whole run had a similar problem.Makes you wonder about their quality control. Bushnell or Burris. I have lots of Bushnells, top of line Elites and lower end of line, all very good (but not as good as Leo*&%#). Weaver (new), Tasco, Simmons, and Nikon all junk in my opinion. BEAR |

macca - from what i understand, that is pretty rare with a sightron, especially the s2. sounds like they are "making it right," however. that is one good thing in their favor - their warranty. |

Yeah Tas,they tested the scope and said no worries. We have to import them individually as there is no distributor down here.I have only heard of three in the country and they are all down in Vic.I wouldn't mind trying one if I could. Macca |

Ziesse, any more questions?..........................Kingpin PS: Then again, theres Swarovski. Cheap glass is not on my radar screen. Mayby with viagra coatings. I would use iron sights LONG before I would use cheap optics. But of course I also own a lot of quality iron sights, not the ones that come on factory rifles.

This is indeed a tough question. I suppose I'd probably have to say in order of price vs. quality and personal choice: 1. Burris (Black Diamonds) 2. Probably something in the Swavorski, Kahles, Zeiss line (But DANG if they aren't pricey) 3. Sightron 4. Weaver 5. Bushnell Elite Series Edited by The_Mountaineer |
